Gold-bearing Pyrite Deposits in the Central Dinarides
Gold-bearing pyrite deposits of the Mid-Bosnian Schist Mts. are located in the Lower Palaeozoic schists and in the metaquartzporphyries. The biggest veiny type is the Bakovići deposit with gold-bearing pyrite, quartz, and siderite as the main ore minerals. The deposit contains 15 g/t Au. The most important metasomatic type is the Trošnik deposit with pyrite and gold-silver-bearing tetrahedrite as the main ore minerals and with siderite-quartz-barite as the main gangue minerals. The deposit contains 173 g/t Ag and 4.5 g/t Au. Pyrite impregnations along contacts metarhyolite-limestone are of minor economic interest.
