Geochemical significance of the zincian chrome-spinel for the genesis of the Cr-Ba-Fe-Cu-Zn ore deposit in the Zagrlski Brook (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
The metamorphic deposit in the Zagrlski Brook occurs at the contact with a metabasite, apparently conformable with the surrounding Lower Palaeozoic metasediments. The main minerals are siderite, albite, quartz, magnetite, pyrite, significant constituents are hyalophane, chalcopyrite, manganoankerite and zincian chrome-spinel. The authors proved the magmatic origin of the chrome-spinel and of other metals by convecting hydrothermal fluids. The mineral assemblage of the Zagrlski Brook deposit coexists with the neighbouring para-and orthometamorphic greenschist facies complex. In the Oligocene-Eocene time tension fractures were filled by big crystals of quartz and hyalophane cutting the metamorphic deposit.
