Sulphur isotope and fluid inclusion data of barites from the Dinarides
Barite deposits of the Dinarides occur within Palaeozoic and Triassic nappe. Barites, genetically related to Upper Palaeozoic rhyolites, are characterized by d34S +10.37%o and with 3.62 % SrSO4. Barites related to the Triassic Alpine rifting magmatism have d34S +21.40%o and 2.64 % SrSO4. Fluid inclusion study of investigated Variscan barite deposits proved coexistence of Variscan, post-Variscan and Late Alpidic fluids in different proportions. Post-Variscan fluids are homogenous over the whole Dinarides. Similar characteristic features have been found in the Central and Western Europe. Triassic barite deposits are characterized by low homogenization temperature and low salinity.
