Significance of sampling volume for solute flux in aquifers
The solute flux is described as a space-time process where time refers to the solute flux breakthrough and space refers to the transverse displacement distribution at the control plane. The solute flux is predicted as a function of the sampling volume. The statistics of the solute flux breakthrough and transverse displacement distributions are obtained in a integral form by analyzing the motion of particle pairs.
