Paleogeographic Conclusions of Investigations into Qutarnary Deposits on the Islands of the Northwestern Adriatic
Quaternary deposits are not widespread on the mainland of the Adriatic coast and the offshore islands, but they can be studied on Susak and Krk islands (kvarner group). The former i.e the planated Susak horst is considered part of the Istrian platform geomorphologically. Character of sedimentation indicates that the island Susak during the studied period fromk MIndel-Riss interglacial till recently had the properties of a loess plateau. The geomorphological situation suggests that the deposits are remains of a regional sedimentary cover of Quaternary origin.
