Geomorfološka karta otoka Suska
The island Susak has all characteristics of a dessected loess plateau developed on an isometric tectonically limestone block covered with cheek waternary loess and sand layers of eolian-fluvial-slope origin. General morphological properties of the island, especially the planation of limestone plateau underlying loess, loess-like and sand sediments, being undubtedly affected by corosion processes, point to the fact that Susak is an integral part of the Istrian platform. Besides endogenous, egzogenous forces and processes also take part in relief formation. Corrosive-soffosive, slope, karst and abrasive processes in the recent period, and eolian, fluvial, slope and pedogenetic processes in the past are the most important among them. A strong influence of human activities during the historical period on the geomorphological evolution of the island Susak also be mentioned.
