An uncommon antimony, zinc, mercury, wolfram, lead, iron-bearing quartz vein system at Fojnica, Mid-Bosnian Schist Mts.
The poly-metallic quartz.antimonite vein system is located 3-4 km NW and NE od Fojnica. The area consists of Lower Paleozoic green schist facies metasediments formed under 3-5 kbars and 350-450 oC, intruded by Upper Paleozoic metarhyolites on which K-Ar crystallization age of 256 Ma was obtained. Paragenesis is complex: quartz, antimonite, sphalerite, cinnabar, chalcedony, jamestonite, bertherite, boulangerite, plagionite, ferberite, siderite, arsenopyrite, pyrrhotite, marcasite, pyrite, metacinnabar, barite, tetrahedrite, galena, chalcopyrite, realgar, gold. K-Ar ages indicate three metamorphic phases: 343 Ma phylites, 92-121 Ma metarhyolites, 37-46 Ma ottrelite schists. The fluid inclusions in quartz from the Čemernica vein are aqueous, aqueous-carbonic. Salinity is between 15-20 NaCl equ.wt.%, Th is between 150-230 oC, for aqueous FI-s and 300-322 oC for carbonic FI-s. P-T-X characteristics reflex complex geotectonic history of the Mid-Bosnian-schists Mts..
