Security in South-Eastern Europe
The book deals with the post-Cold War developments in South-Eastern Europe which show that this region has become an increased instability zone with disintegration tendencies leading to ethnic and political conflicts and escalation of social and economic tensions. Security instabilities in South-Eastern Europe have different denominators, whether they be economic, social, religious or military, which greatly impedes the fight against these occurrences. They are extremely negative because they hamper the solution and create new entanglements which in turn disassociates the entire region from contemporary European movement, whether between the EU members or in relation with the countries in transition. The authors deals with the disinegration of Yugoslavia and reaction of each of the Balkan countries to the wars in Yugoslavia, with the Dayton Agreement, the Stability Pact, NATO intervention in Yugoslavia, with the Russian and American policy in South-Eastern Europe and the challenges to security in SE Europe.
