On the aromaticity of trimethylboroxine: A Photoelectron Spectroscopic Study
The electronic structure of trimethylboroxine Me3B3O3 has been investigated by HeI and HeII UV photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS) and DFT/OVGF calculations. Our results indicate that the title molecule does not have aromatic character or B– O p-bonding while related borazine does have a small degree of aromatic character.
