Probing the methods for attenuating non-stereoselective interactions in chiral stationary phases

To improve the chiral discrimination performance, new Pirkle-type CSPs have been prepared lacking some of non-stereoselective adsorption sites. The substituted secondary amide in alkyl spacer increases the basicity of carbonyl oxygen, which in turn enhances the enantioselectivity and decreases retention times. Effect of the free NH2 groups from aminopropyl silica and nature of polar modifier in mobile phase on quality of enantioseparation is also investigated.
