Determining the best phenomenological model for hadronic interactions using the anti-Omega to Omega ratio in proton-proton collisions
The anti-Omega to Omega ratio in proton-proton collisions at SPS energies is an excellent handle to determine the string (such as NEXUS, Pythia or UrQMD) or statistical model that best describes hadronic interactions. This is important knowledge to understand lead interactions and QGP formation in them. The NA49 experiment is currently analyzing the anti-Omega to Omega ratio in proton-proton collisions with improved statistics and with a significantly better resolution to update their preliminary results grom 2002. We will present what improvements in this ratio can be expected and how will this help differentiate hadronic models on the market.
