Design Environment for Structural Design

Design environment for the concept design of multi-deck ship structures is presented. Used approach combines the fast generation of design variants based on the generic 3D-FEM models (using macro-elements) and the two step decision support procedure based on topology and scantling optimization. Example 1 shows the good accuracy for the response of the cruise ship generic 3D-FEM model and Example 2 presents complete structural optimization of the ISSC benchmark for passenger ship.
