Large displacement analysis of elastic-plastic framed structures under creep regimes

In this work, a one-dimensional model for large displacement analysis of framed structures under creep regimes is presented. A numerical algorithm using prismatic and straight spatial beam finite element is developed. The corresponding equilibrium equations are formulated in the framework of co-rotational description, using the virtual work principle. Displacements and rotations are allowed to be large, while strains are assumed to be small. Material is assumed to be homogenous and isotropic. Bilinear elastic-plastic material model with isotropic hardening is adopted. The numerical algorithm is implemented in a computer program called BMCA and its effectiveness is validated trough the test examples.
