Simulation on Vibratory Roller-Soil Interaction
Compaction of soil by vibratory roller is a complex process. Various soil properties and roller parameters interact in drum-soil system. Prediction of the dynamic behaviour of the vibrating drum is very important. It can be used for optimising the parameters of the roller i.e. roller’ s equipment. Mathematical models, analytic and numeric, are explained as introduction for simulation on ITI-SIM. The displacement of the soil is established as a function of the drum amplitude, oscillating frequency and soil stiffness and dumping coefficient.
