A Mixed Meshless Formulation for Analysis of Shell-Like Structures
A mixed meshless formulation, based on the Local Petrov-Galerkin approach, is developed for analysis of plate and shell structures. Strains, stresses and displacements are approximated independently. In order to obtain the governing equations, the local Petrov-Galerkin principle is applied. The thickness locking effect is eliminated by using the interpolation of the transversal normal stress component. The proposed algorithm possesses considerable advantages in comparison to the standard displacement based formulations.
