A numerical analysis of the behaviour of a vehicle model with driver’s seat at the road bump
This work presents the study of results obtained by numerical simulation of the vehicle model during the passage over the road bump. In contrast of the classic so-called full-vehicle model consisting of 7 d.o.f., the additional degree of freedom, connected with the driver’ s seat, is taken into account. By numerical solving of this 8 d.o.f. model the natural frequencies as well as vibration responses of vehicle wheels, chassis (pitch, roll and heave) and driver’ s seat, in the time and frequency domain, are calculated. The excitation effects of the road bump is taken into account in two different ways in the form of short duration excitation, resulting in the excitation of natural frequencies of the masses in the vibration system, and in the form of periodic excitation from the passage over the road bump the front and after the time delay the rear wheels. Influence of vibration parameters as riding speed, driver’ s mass with seat as well as stiffness and damping of the driver’ s seat on the vibrations of the driver’ s seat is analyzed in addition.
