Optimization of Steady-State Vibration Response
This paper is concerned with the optimization of steady-state vibration response of the mechanical system modeled by linear time-invariant second-order system. After rewriting the system as a first-order generalized state-space system (descriptor system), and under the assumptions of regularity, stability and absence of impulsive behavior, the optimization criteria is derived from a linear matrix inequality condition for norm of such system. The resulting non-convex optimization problem is solved by an appropriate local minimization algorithm. The efficiency of the proposed technique has been demonstrated by the optimization of a two degree-of-freedom dynamic vibration absorber attached to a three degree-of-freedom mechanical system.
