Evaluation of Sensor Technologies for Intelligent Transport Systems
The paper presents a new approach to sensor technology evaluation in Optimal Decision Making Process. The sensors have the function of collecting traffic flow information, which allows the automatic traffic management systems to perform control depending on the realtime traffic demand. In order to be able to compare the sensors within a particular selected type set, the multi-criteria evaluation model was used to perform the synthesis of evaluation process. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was used for the synthesis procedure. The proposed model was tested on characteristic example in the Zagreb Metropolitan Traffic Area.
