Non - Homogeneity of Wall Thickness In Tube Hydroforming
The process of tube hydroforming exhibits a number of advantages when compared to other metal forming processes. Therefore, the application of this manufacturing technology expands rapidly, especially in the automotive industry. Present paper describes investigations in which non-homogeneity of tube wall thickness, as one of the very important geometrical features of this technology, is analyzed in connection with the friction at tube-die interface. Theoretical considerations and FE simulations have been conducted, which proved direct dependence between friction and wall thickness non-uniformity.
