Advanced Ship Design for Pollution Prevention
This book is a collection of papers from ASDEPP International Workshop, which was held in Split 23 & 24 November 2009. The Workshop was the part of Joint European Project “Advanced Ship Design for Pollution Prevention” (ASDEPP) financed by the European Commission within the programme Tempus. The main purpose of the papers contained in the book is to represent teaching materials for Master of Naval Architecture courses developed within ASDEPP project, which are: Modelling of the environment and environmental loads Ship structural reliability with respect to ultimate strength Fatigue reliability and rational inspection planning Collision and grounding as criteria in design of ship structures Probabilistic approach to damage stability. Since the most of developed courses are new and reflect recent trends and developments in Naval Architecture, the contributions included in this book represent state-of-the-art in concerned topics and therefore can be a valuable reference source for PhD students, academics, engineers and professionals involved in design and maintenance of ships and marine structures.
