A semantic escience portal for international scientific and academic cooperation

This paper explores the requirements, designs and implementations of a semantic publishing and collaboration portal for the science community. It thereby points to the combination and fusion of a technology stack which consists of proven building blocks. Semantic data models constitute the next step in human machine interfaces. They also call for revisiting of all other layers in the technology stack. In the proposed system the context information becomes an active part by making it explicit, accessible and composable. The practicability of each step within this process has specific attention. The DAAAM International Network and Symposium is a candidate for the implementation and international exploration of the proposed system
