Reverse Logistics Operations as Element of Warehouse Management
Tendency to completely separate two different channels of logistics on forward and backward results in separating them theoretically and physically. Those two similar but in many ways completely different channels of logistics have to both be handled extremely precise and expeditiously in behave of controlling and minimising costs, capturing and usage of maximum possible value and in the end to have a loyal, obliged and satisfied final consumer. When handled together in distribution centre, reverse logistics activities will always be of secondary matter handled after activities of the forward logistics with more difficulties. Creating a return center that provides special handling and educated personnel would grant more free locations in already overstocked warehouses. Physical separation and focused control on the flow of returned goods and employees can improve management information, decrease amounts of goods that are directed for landfills, reduce store level costs, form upgraded returns inventory control, simplify store procedures etc.
