New Possibilities of Degreasing Process Evaluation
Optoelectronic grease control is a progressive method detecting grease of many types on materials which vary in types as well as size. Devises enabling such testing are based on using one physical proprety - luminescence of contaminants under suitable light sources. This physical property is demonstrated by the ability of contaminants to respond by producing certain light when exposed to ultraviolet light of suitable parameters (output, intensity, and wavelenght). Luminescence, i.e. fluoroscence in this case is recorded by a CCD camera unit. The camera records the radiation coming from the contaminants (grease) having been exposed to ultraviolet light of a specific output, intensity and wavelenght produced by a mercury-vapour lamp. Such an image is consequently analyzed by computer software. Based on the intensity of flouroscence it is possible to carry out a qualitative and quantitative analysis of grease level after calibration (i.e. the thickness and type of grease present on the surface of the analysed sample).
