Micronuclei detection in mussel tissue:microscopy vs flow cytometry

In this study the microscopic and flow cytometric mesurements of micronuclei distribution in the tissue of the common marine bioindicator, mussel, Mytilus galloprovincialis after treatment with model pollutants were compared and discussed. Advantage of the flow cytometry detection of micronuclei distribution in mussel haemolymph after treatment with model polutants were presented.
