Analysis of the Double Backward Extrusion Process

Double backward extrusion is a process in which simultaneous material flow in a wo different directions take place. In this process very high normal stresses occure which inevitably reflectc on tool life. Process is friction sensitive e.g. the mode of material flow depends on friction conditions. Current paper describes analytical, numerical and experimental investigation of this process, with the focus on the change of neutral radius position during extrusion.
