STATISTICAL TOLERANCING USING MONTE CARLO SIMULATION
Statistical tolerancing is the process of analyzing component tolerances variation in order to estimate the overall level of variation on final product that must meet customer requirements. The model of tolerance analysis may be very complex, resulting in tolerance of the output quantity to be functionally related to a number of input variables. In this article Monte Carlo simulations (MCS) were used for analysis of a complex tolerances model. MCS is a method for the propagation of distributions by performing random sampling from probability distributions.
statistical tolerancing; Monte Carlo simulation; component variation; overall variation
