A Study of Optimization-Based Assessment of Global Chassis Control Actuator Configurations
An off-line gradient algorithm is used to optimize vehicle dynamics control inputs for 14 single-input and multi-input actuator configurations and three characteristic double lane change maneuvers. The actuators considered include active front and rear steering, and active front, rear, and central differentials of torque vectoring and active limited slip types. The optimization results are used to assess different actuator configurations and provide recommendations.
