Runout compensation in elastic rotor balansing with eddy current sensors
In the task of rotor balancing, the absolute bearing vibrations are the most commonly measured. Measurements are performed by means of sensors mounted on the casing of rotor bearings. The usage of eddycurrent sensors, measuring the relative shaft vibrations especially in machines with journal bearings, is one another possibility in rotor balancing. In the last case the faults in the measuring track of the shaft can be avoid by means of runout compensations. These faults are caused by geometrical deviations of the measuring track, shaft bow, residual magnetic field in the measuring track etc. In this paper the results of balancing of the rotor model with 3 discs, with and without runout compensation are shown. The relative rotor vibrations are obtained with multichannel measuring equipment based on National Instruments NI PCI 4472 (Dynamic Signal Acquisition Board) and non-contacting displacements sensors by Bruel&Kjaer while balancing calculations are performed in the special application written in the program package Mathematica for Windows. Quality of this two balancing procedures are compared by presenting waterfall diagrams obtained from rotor run-up analyses.
