Meshless formulation for thin plate analysis using stress and displacement interpolations
An efficient meshless formulation employing the local Petrov-Galerkin approach has been proposed for analysis of plate deformation responses. The stress tensor components are interpolated variables whose nodal values are replaced by the displacement components using the independent displacement approximation. A closed global system of equations is derived with only the nodal displacements as unknown variables. The locking phenomena are efficiently eliminated.
