Investigation into self-locking planetary gear trains throught the lever analogy
The paper considers a single-carrier gear train with two external meshing gears with a possibility of self-locking. Relationships are derived by applying the lever analogy method for analysis. In this way, angular velocities can be defined, as well as the ideal (not considering the losses) and the real (considering the losses) torque and efficiency. According to this method, after determining the torque of the shaft of the gear train, the speed-ratio, the power flows, and efficiency in complex compound planetary gear trains are easily determined.
