2nd International Conference on Heat Treatment and Surface Engineering of Tools and Dies

Tools are of strategic importance to the industrial manufacturing processes. Their use, as in forming, cutting, shearing, blanking and mould applications, will have an impact on process productivity and quality of the end product. The conference will present new information on tooling and provide a forum for discussions and transfer between tool users, toolmakers, tool steel producers and researchers. The conference will address the properties and selection of tool materials, heat treatment, tool design, surface engineering and the prerequisites for a long-life tooling performance. It should offer an opportunity to examine the state of the art and a perspective of scientific and technological achievements in heat treatment, surface modification and coating, as well as modern modelling and simulation of all environments important for tools and dies. The interdisciplinary character of the meeting and the end user perspective are important for the conference, as well as the modern manufacturing industry.
