The problematic of joining different type of steels with obtaining optimal joint properties is present in manufacturing of products for chemical, power and other type of industries. Joining of different types of materials (steels) is necessary not only due to construction but also due to economic (cost effective) demands. In this paper, effect of postweld heat treatment of the MAG weld joint between S235JR carbon steel and X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2 stainless steel is investigated. The postweld heat treatment was applied in order to research the changes in microstructure and hardness of weld joint parts (base metals, heat affected zone and fusion zone) as selected heat treatment is defined according to one steel type.
