Analysis of longitudinal ultimate load-capacity in concept synthesis of thin-walled structures
Improved incremental-iterative progressive collapse analysis method is presented. Proposed method subsumpts various distributed bending load effects and enables more sophisticated evaluation of longitudinal ultimate load-capacity (ultimate bending moment) and more accurate and reliable identification of the structural critical cross section and it’s proprietary collapse sequence. This enables more accurate and reliable determination of true structural safety level and it’s corresponding safety margin with respect to design loads and can have significant impact on quality level and interaction of design attributes for nondominated design variants and on contrivance of more rational and economically feasible preferred design solutions.
