Market effectiveness and internal efficiency of Croatian hotel industry
Changing prices in particular destinations relative to others are regarded as the most important economic influence on destination shares of total international tourism. While earlier research has recognised that a destination's price competitiveness differs according to a vistior's country of origin there has been relatively little attention paid to tourism price competitiveness from the perspective different motives for travel. The paper demonstrates that the price competitiveness of tourism destinations vary according to journey purpose. While Australia is used as the base country for construction of price competitiveness indices, the method used is of general applicability.
