A tourism destination is a place where tourists gather seeking tourist attractiveness. Due to an increased competitiveness among tourist destinations, the measurement of destination attractiveness is gaining importance. The paper highlights methodology problems involved in the measurement of destination attractiveness which have been noticed in a simulated longitudinal study that has been going on continuously since 1987 in Croatia. The importance of the applicability of the obtained data is also pointed out followed by guidelines for future research.
