Annual variability of decapod larvae community in the shallow waters of the southern Adriatic
In order to collect data on decapoda larvae, investigations were carried in the shallow waters of Dubrovnik and in Mali Ston Bay during 1989/1990. Daytime samples were spaced using the "Adriatic" sampler with a 125 ľm mesh netting. The most abundance of decapod larvae was present in the plankton from April to September. In the oligotrophic Lokrum Channel maximum of 71 ind.m-3 was found in May. Dominant species Processa spp. and Liocarcinus spp. contributed 33% and 19% to total decapod larvae density. In slightly antropogenic eutrophicated Gruž Bay, 666 ind.m-3 and 637 ind. m-3 were found at 10 meters depth in June and July. In naturally eutrophicated Mali Ston Bay maximum of 531 ind.m-3 (Usko) and 639 ind.m-3 (Bistrina) were noted at the bottom layer in July and April. A markedly dominant species Pisidia longimana contributed from 33% (Gruž Bay), 47% (Usko) and 61% (Bistrina) to total decapod density. Kruskal-Wallis test (H) revealed significant differences in vertical distribution density of P. longimana species. The majority of the individuals in Gruž Bay were found in the intermediate layer from 10 to 15 meters depth (H=19.902, P=0.003). At other stations, aggregations were higher in the near the bottom layer (Usko, H=16.263, P=0.001 and Bistrina, H=29,769, P BROJEVI PROJEKTA/TEMA: (Npr. 119001, 00350002) PUNI TEKST RADA: (full text) Provjerite da je ime datoteke ispravno Imenujte datoteku u kojoj se nalazi Vaš rad: (Upute) Izaberite format datoteke vašeg rada: JEZIK NA KOJEM JE RAD NAPISAN: Za poslati ispravljene podatke pripremili:Ivo Batistić i Jadranka Stojanovski
