The influence of the circular saw blade clearance on the unevenness of the worked surface

The actual norm evaluates individual components of the complex unevenness lay – waviness – roughness as separate cover. The resulting unevenness of the surface is then the combination of waviness - roughness – and lay of the surface. The roughness and waviness of the surface are evaluated in a system, where three-dimensional character of unevenness, created during the machining process is reduced into plane. The profile obtained in this plane is evaluated with regard to the middle line of the reduced profile. This article shows the advantages of the laser profilometer application during monitoring the complex unevenness lay – waviness – roughness in woodworking of solid wood. This paper deals with the influence of selected cutting parameters (the feed speed vf, and the clearance size) on the unevenness of surface.
