Influence of Water Vapour on Low-temperature CO Oxidation over Au/Fe2O3 Catalyst
Influence of water vapour on the activity of Au/Fe2O3 catalyst was tested in the reaction of low-temperature CO oxidation.Addition of water vapour had a positive influence in the temperature range from 303 K to 383 K. In situ DRIFTS (diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy)and FT-IR measurements in a vacuum shoved the importance of water and -OH groups, and water-derived species, for the efficiency of the catalyst in low-temperature oxidation of CO.
CO oxidation; supported gold catalyst; haematite; water vapour; -OH groups
