Office chairs comfort in regards to subjects’ characteristics
Paper presents statistically significant differences in subjective evaluation of comfort/discomfort on four different seat constructions regarding gender, age, height and weight of subjects, health problems and habits of leg crossing while sitting. The study included 36 subjects and 16 chairs. After a two days’ use of the chairs the subjects assessed their feeling of comfort and discomfort by ticking statements of the questionnaire about existence of specific sitting habits and health problems. Differences in evaluation among subject groups are verified by means of a t-test for independent samples. Study showed no significant differences in tested variables and subjects’ characteristics, but certain trends are present.
