Croatian natural gas system Master plan for the period until 2025

The aim of this paper is analysis of potential natural gas consumption as well as necessary transport and storage facility requirements. The estimate of natural gas consumption will be based on the economic feasibility of the natural gas distribution network. The storage capacity will be determined for meeting domestic consumption, and eventually construction of storage capacity which would serve other companies. Also, the Croatian gas sector will be examined in a wider regional context. (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia) This analysis could provide solution for natural gas transit to third countries. The necessity for the development of a natural gas Master plan is enhanced by signing the agreement for realisation of the Gas Energy Adria (GEA) project between companies INA (Croatian Oil and Gas Industry) and ENI. The agreement contains the maximal import of 2.2 BCM/year until 2013. Together with Russian import, the total import will be 3.3 bcm/year.
