Prostitution as a Profession - Searching for Answers between the Headlines
Paper gives us a profound comparative overview of the legal handling of prostitution in different countries in Western, Nothern and south Eastern Europe. Author examines if prostitution can be regarded as a "normal" profession and as a form of providing services, as it has been stated by the European Court of Justice for instance, to the neglect of the human rights factor. author argues againt such an approach where prostitutes simply fulfill an "economic activity", and points to the fact that "legal" prostitution is often hardly separable from forced prostitution, while at the same time the aspect of prostitution as sex slavery should not be neglected.
