Are older workers second-class? - The case of Croatia and Hungary
Age represents the most common ground of experienced discrimination under all grounds in the European Union. One of the main aims of the EU employment policy is to increase the employment rate of workers above 50 years and keep older workers in the labour market. The paper examines the age discrimination issues in Croatia and Hungary through the analysis of legislation and available statistical data. Special attention is paid to the interpretation of the relevant EU Court judgments and their implications for the national conditions in Hungary and Croatia.
