Development of the „Croato-Aegyptica“ Database
The basic aim of the Croato-Aegyptica Electronica (CAE) project is to select relevant material presenting the Egyptian cultural heritage in Croatia both in the form of institutions and private collections (c. 4000–5000 artefacts). From its initial phase in 2003 till the end of 2012 around 3000 artefacts were analysed and inserted into our CAE database. In the next phase (2013–2015), the online digital catalogue, as the final product will include all Egyptian museum and private collections in Croatia from Predynastic periods until the Arab conquest of Egypt in the 7th century AD. CAE database will also be implemented in the Global Egyptian Museum (http://www.globalegyptianmuseum.org/) which is carried out under the aegis of the International Committee for Egyptology (CIPEG) and Center for Documentation of Cultural & Natural Heritage of Egypt (Cultnat) (http://www.cultnat.org/).
