Future teachers' perception on the application of ICT in the process of assessment and feedback
In recent years the quality of education has been the main focus in higher education. Feedback is a key element of formative assessment or even a key part of the overall approach to learning. Information and communication technology enables more effective ways of teaching with frequent formative assessment and timely feedback. The aim of this study is to examine the extent to which the future teachers are familiar with the concepts of summative and formative assessment, and their perception of the role of ICT in these processes, and to what extent, in this context, formative assessment and feedback appear in their current education. Results showed that future teachers are not very well familiar with these concepts, but are mostly satisfied with communication through ICT although in spite of the emphasized deficiencies. Limitations and implications for further research are considered.
