Low-frequency dielectric spectroscopy of low-energy excitations of the charge density wave ground state
We present the investigation of low-energy excitations in CDW compounds by means of ultra low-frequency dielectric spectroscopy. The method of thermally stimulated discharging current (TSDC) with effective frequencies in the range 10-4 - 10-2 Hz has been used in addition to the measurement of transient current recorded in seven decades of time. These methods show themself as very sensitive probes of complex features of the dielectric freezing in CDW systems. The main peaks in the TSDC spectra appear at approximately the temperatures indicated by recently found dielectric critical slowing down [5]. The isothermal depolarization shows coexistence of two relaxational processes. Occurence of the low-temperature glass transition in CDW system is discussed.
