In addition, the authors observe statistically data that give them an insight into the state of poverty by socio-demographic characteristics such as gender, age, education, size, and economic activity of the household. Also, they analyze previous research on subjective poverty, briefly describe the impact of the economic crisis and identify new potential groups in risk of poverty. In the second part of this paper, focus is on the measures and programs to combat poverty in Croatia, and also their hitherto effectiveness.
