According to the reasearch by the Montenegrin Employers` Federation, although CSR awareness has increased, there are still weaknesses in implementation, as most companies practice CSR in an ad hoc, rather than a strategic, manner. Reasons for the lack of integration of CSR are the lack of legal and other incentives. Respondents specifically mentioned the need for more dissemination of information through media and the lack of prizes or public recognition, tax benefits, education, and awareness campaigns, which in turn results in low investment into CSR projects. Hence, although companiesexpressed support for sustainability priorities, thereis little evidence of implementation. They believe that CSR significance will grow in future and approximately half of the respondents expressed their interest in participating in CSR training. CSR is stimulated by a number of national awards. The Government of Montenegro adopted the Policy for Social Responsibility, prepared by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, in cooperation with the Network for Social Responsibility. The Policy is the first document that at this level defines the concept of social responsibility in Montenegro. Besides this, CSR is promoted in various ways by the government. According to the document ‘Mainstreaming CSR in National Policies of Montenegro’, 12 national strategies and 26 laws directly or indirectly include CSR principles
sustainable enterprise, sustainable development, corporate social responsibility
