Economic viability of non-commercial and extensive rabbit breeding a Slovenian case study
The aim of this study is present the technology and economic viability calculation of rabbit meat production. The input data and results base on the real case (farm) from Slovenia. The priority of the farm is producing the rabbit meat for self-sufficient consumption instead of commercial approach. The economic calculations bases on data collected from two production cycles, 221 rabbits respectively. Results show the economically justified production if the selling price of rabbit meat will be at least 8 €/kg. If the selling costs of rabbit meat will be 9 €/kg than the financial result will be higher for approx. 15%. The economic viability analyse of rabbit meat production confirms the economically justified production.
