Czech Musician Karel Moor and His One Year Long Stay in Zadar (1913)

The paper aims to research the activity of the Czech composer Karel Moor in the pre-war 1913, when as a conductor he took the lead of the Croatian Choral and Music Society 'Petar Zoranić' in Zadar. For this purpose, we made use of the archival sources about the Society, which are preserved in small numbers and kept in the State Archives in Zadar, as well as the periodacl Narodni list and Smotra Dalmatinska/La Rassegna dalmata from 1913. During the Homeland War in Croatia (1991) the premises of the Society were destroyed along with most documentation, so it may be assumed that among these documents there was also material which could have helped us provide a lot of information about Moor's prefessional as well as his personal life episode in Zadar.
