Experimental Simulation and Analysis of Die Casting Mould Wear
This paper is a part of an experimental research in area of high pressure die casting mould wear. Results shown in the paper were acquired on prototype wear testing equipment. This equipment was designed to achieve and analyze tribological wear mechanisms such as thermal fatigue, erosion and adhesion wear. The equipment simulates industry conditions to help predict wear intensity. Parameters for aluminium high pressure die casting were used. Experimental results are presented and compared to ANSYS simulations. Samples were 3D scanned before and after experiments to graphically show the intensity of wear at certain areas.
